The shed is a good addition to the South-West hilltop, which also leaves space for rocks and nodes to spawn for mining. 5 Crystal MazeĬheck out this example of the Hill-top farm map. The square plots of land on the right-hand side make a really good way to farm, with a 24-space square per crop to keep things simple and organized. The coop and barn sharing a large enclosure in the top-left means that large animals and coop animals can both be in the space, which creates a warm, inviting feel. The ‘orchard’ or fruit tree section in the bottom-left corner is a great addition, with plenty of trees to make the most of each season’s harvestable fruit. This Standard Farm layout is divided nice and clearly. ![]() Placing the sheds on either side of the greenhouse is a nice idea it makes for quick trips for year-round crops to the kegs or jars indoors, making artisanal production swift and easy. The windmill works nicely as a central feature as well. The little flower patch at the bottom is also complemented by the bee houses, allowing you to make flavored honey throughout the year (apart from Winter). This variation of the Forest Farm is very aesthetically pleasing, but still efficient with the rectangular plots for crops, complete with iridium sprinklers. The stable by the entrance also allows quick access to town with your trusty steed. The sheds down the side of the map can be used to house kegs or preserve jars, acting like a little brewery. ![]() Putting barns and coops at the top of the map allows you to house livestock while keeping the focus on the crops. With all the tillable land that a Standard Farm brings, putting iridium sprinklers to use is the most efficient way to make use of that space, and farm as many profitable goods as possible. Dividing them into neat, symmetrical sections makes it easier to separate the different types. This layout puts the original focus of any farm at the center of everything: crops. In this layout in particular, it’s nice to see these two styles walk hand in hand efficiently. The line between the paved paths and the grass fields in front of the barns ensures that there’s a division between natural space, as well as organization. The rest of the free space is used to create slightly more natural enclosures for the farm animals. Here, crops are at the center, organized tidily wherever space allows. Luckily there are still ways to make it work. However, at the same time it takes away some much needed space to make the biggest, most efficient farm. The deep forest farm type provides a lush, natural environment. Animals might not have a ton of freedom roaming in this area, this layout definitely allows players to maximize profit quickly. On the left side, all things “animal” are featured, with a rather small and compact grass area. The middle part is dedicated for crops and trees to ensure there’s a steady flow of wood and income from crops. It might not look the best, but there’s a place and purpose for everything. 10 Industrial Stoneįor those who just want some plain old efficiency, this farm layout is based on producing resources as much as possible in the most compact way. To inspire players in their brand new playthrough, we’ve added two additional farm designs that hopefully will help farmers plan out how to best produce their crops and other resources. You could totally move all trees outside of the farm unless you want more than the 16 fruit trees you can put into your greenhouse to get a little more space as well.Above all, now is the time if ever to return to this game and give it some much-needed love. inside of them so you can have more fields or other production in the outside area. In order to maximize the space you have to use a lot of sheds or cabins that friends upgrade for you and keep all processing etc. If you don't want to max out your coops or barns or don't care about letting your animals outside you can also place them on the different islands. Then you can dedicate the other small islands for other purposes like beehives, sheds, trees. If you like big fields or having lots of animals the main and center islands are the only real options you have. The biggest issue is that huge plot of non tillable land on the main island as well as the area in front of the house just being a few tiles too small to make a nice field. I ended up making something that is a lot more aesthetic than functional and moved on to another layout. ![]() I spent so many hours trying to come up with smart layouts that are also effective and always had to go for compromises. I started my first farm on Riverlands as well and really ended up regretting it.
